Preparation for Wednesday, September 16, 2009

I. Read and prepare to lead discussion on "Introduction" and "PART 1" of Ethical Dimensions of Health Policy. Focus especially, but not exclusively, on the following questions/issues:

A. Does Health Policy require that the ends may sometimes justify the means?

B. What is the distinction between Health Policy and the personal practice of Medicine?

C. Can we have a "Healthy" Health Policy with unhealthy people living under it? Or, can we have an "Unhealthy" Health Policy with healthy people living under it? What are the thresholds numbers (or percentages) of each?

II. Engage dialogue of President Obama's address and following media analyses of Wednesday, September 9, 2009.

III. Report of progress for each sub-topic group.

IV. Announce any information of forthcoming town hall meetings or similar public venues.
